From the airport to the city

Budapest has a bus which takes you from just outside the arrivals hall, directly into the centre of the city for a small fee of around £2.50. You can purchase tickets from the machine outside the arrivals hall, or by downloading the BudapestGO app from the iOS and Play app stores.

We stayed in the Hotel Museum Budapest which was by the Metro Astoria (or Astoria M) stop, possibly the second stop on the route. This is a really convenient bus stop, as within the same vicinity, you can pick up the hop-on-hop-off bus. The stop for this is just over the road.

Along the street there’s a good selection of well known outlets including Tesco, Subway, and Starbucks. Further down the road is (shop name).

The Hotel

The hotel itself is about 5 minutes walk from the bus stop, which is really convenient. The hotel staff were very welcoming, and even though we were there before the designated check in time, they found a room for us. The hotel has a small bar, spa, and restaurant area which is primarily for breakfast. There was a small seating area by the bar, too. Breakfast was included in the rate of the room, which filled you up for the day.

The room was a reasonable size, it had tea/coffee making facilities as well as a small fridge for your drinks. The bathroom was a good size in proportion to the room. Our room was on the top floor, so it was nice looking out the window over the rooftops of Budapest.
