We had planned 5 nights in LA, staying at the Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza which was on Sunset Boulevard itself, situated in West Hollywood.

On arrival at the hotel, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were checked in straight away after the usual credit card and passport antics, and directed to our room. The hotel itself is clean but a little dated. We didn’t mind this as much, due to its location and facilities.

The rooms were very spacious, the air-con was a little noisy, but otherwise fine. The bathroom was a good size, and the room included a small area with a large fridge and microwave. Nothing to complain about there.

Breakfast at the hotel was…OK. It’s nothing majorly special, it’s a small room with about 8 tables in. They offer hot and cold food, pastries, juices, etc. Although it was a little mediocre, we were delighted as it filled us up for most of the day and you could take a breakfast muffin out for a snack later on. We just wished it wasn’t on paper plates…never mind!

It had a pool! The pool was small, but really nice hidden away behind the hotel. We had two of our best evenings in this area, where we had a bottle of wine and a pizza (follow the link in the location section below to things in the local area).

We were really pleased with the location for local convenience stores, restaurants, and where the hop-on-hop-off tour collected us from. You can read more about what’s close to the hotel in our post here
